A Fertility Tea recipe that is delicious easy to make and can balance your hormones, build high quality eggs, a thick uterus lining, relieve pain and eliminate stress...such a thing can't be real right?

Well....

It is!

And I'm going to give you that Fertility Tea recipe in just a moment. But this isn't something you just order online, or pop down to the local drug store and pick up. Those type of fertility teas and tonics are for the most part, just money grabs that have little medicinal benefit. Some of them can even be detrimental to your fertility! Particularly if they contain caffeine (read my series on the dangers of caffeine and how it can sabotage your fertility here)!

The truth is  is one of the secrets behind the success of my patients and fertility coaching clients are the fertility tea's I teach my patients to prepare and enjoy. And the fertility tea recipe I share here are... a little different to many of the others you'll find online...the reason being that as a Traditional Chinese Medical Herbalist I have a deep knowledge of specific plants  and herbs that boost natural fertility - however I also understand that you cannot use a one size fits all approach.

A true, effective Fertility Tea recipe should be specific for the individual and the issues that they are facing.

How to Find the Right Fertility Tea for You!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine our herbal formulas are nearly always taken in the form of a tea made from a decoction of various herbs. These herbs have specific properties that act on different organs and produce different results.

As such, it is very important to figure out the underlying causes behind a fertility problem. For example, the reasons for Anovulation (missed or absent ovulation - so no egg is released to be fertilized) are very different to the reasons Amenorrhea (a lack of sufficient blood for a period). Each needs to be understood and treated correctly. And of course, there can be multiple patterns at play that can lead to each of these problems developing.

We can also prepare specific teas for specific sages in the menstrual cycle. So you can use one to build blood, or a tea to boost estrogen and develop big healthy eggs, or a progesterone boosting tea to help hold and grip on to a pregnancy and reduce the risk of miscarriage.

This is why it is crucial to get the advice of fertility specialist. The good news is that  you can set up a Free 1-on-1 fertility troubleshooting session and talk with me here.

I'll take a detailed case history and figure out which fertility teas (along with which foods, exercises, pressure points etc) are right for you. :-)

But, I'd like to give you two tea recipes RIGHT NOW! :-D

These are used with nearly everyone of my patients and coaching clients.

A Fertility Tea Recipe to Build a Brilliant Lining

Fertility TeaFertility Tea

After the period starts women start losing blood. This is of course, normal and healthy - however, if the problem getting pregnant is due to low blood volume (and thus not creating a thick enough lining in the uterus to allow implantation to occur or not enough blood to nourish the developing baby) it is crucial to replace and replenish this blood as fast as possible.

Even in cases where blood isn't an issue, I'm such a big fan of supporting women through the period that pretty much all patients and coaching clients are recommended to enjoy this tea.

It is  called "Tao Hong Si Wu Tang".

This means - "Persica & Carthamus Four Materials Decoction". It was first recorded in 1742 in a 90 volume treatise on general medicine called the "Golden Mirror of Medicine" (yi zong jin jian).

Here's the Fertility Tea recipe I use:

My Fertility Tea Recipe to Build a Brilliant Lining

  • Dang Gui - 10 grams
  • Shu Di - 12 grams
  • Chuan Xiong - 5 grams
  • Bai Shao - 12 grams
  • Tao Ren - 5 grams
  • Hong Hua - 3 grams

Each of these herbs works to build blood and nourish the reproductive centre.

Dang Gui is Angelica root and is used along with Shu Di (Rehmannia root), Chuan Xiong (Ligusticum root) and Bai Shao (paeonia root) to nourish and build strong healthy blood

In addition the Tao Ren (Prunus seed) and Hong Hua (Carthamus flower) help to break up cortisol (the stress hormone) and clotting agents in the blood so that the blood flows smoother and reduce clots and lumps in the menstrual blood.

It is such a wonderful Fertility Tea recipe that nearly all my patients will be placed on this during the period to replenish and rebuild the blood lining.

Real Life Results

In fact, once patient that suffered from habitual scanty lining of the uterus actually came into my clinic overjoyed after a few weeks with an ultrasound picture of her uterus as it showed a remarkably thick, triple lining of the uterus - the ideal from IVF and fertility. Both she and her doctors were astonished as in her whole fertility history she had never presented with such a remarkably healthy lining. :-)

A Fertility Tea Recipe to Build Better Blood and Digestion

Sheng Jiang is Fresh GingerSheng Jiang is Fresh Ginger

This is such a simple and effective tea to enjoy. It stimulates the stomach to release digestive enzymes so you ca break down food and fluid more effectively, build more blood (for better implantation) and only requires one ingredient!

Sheng Jiang

Sheng Jiang is Fresh Ginger. This Fertility Herb is known for its wonderful ability to “restore devastated yang” (increase your energy levels!) and “expel cold” (warm the body, limbs and centre). A traditional Chinese medical text Be Cao Jin Ji Zhu states ginger as ‘helping digestion, to strengthen the spleen and stop vomiting and nausea, also warm the stomach and to stop the stomach spasming from the coldness.’ Many pregnant women suffer from nausea in the early stage of pregnancy, drinking ginger tea will help to calm down your stomach.

Prior to this though it is very helpful for our reproduction as it aids lower abdomen circulation and is suitable for women who have period pain, dark bleeding, blot clots, stomach pain, and aversion to cold.

To enjoy this fertility tea, just take some root ginger, slice it and add hot water. Let it brew for 5 minutes. if you want to sweeten with honey or give it some kick with a little lemon that's cool. In fact, I highly recommend sipping this fertility tea after each meal.
